WeAuth enables Shopify Plus merchants to offer SMS-based one-time password (OTP) login for customers using Shopify’s new customer accounts experience. Shopify provides email OTP login by default. WeAuth adds an alternative authentication method using SMS, allowing customers to log in with a code sent directly to their phone. This provides a faster, mobile-first login experience and is especially useful in regions where SMS is more reliable or preferred over email.
